We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal/Paralegal, a professional who works alongside attorneys to provide legal support during litigation proceedings. They perform a variety of tasks, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, preparing and filing court documents, managing case files, and communicating with clients and other stakeholders. In particular, a litigation paralegal's responsibilities may include managing document discovery, conducting factual investigations, organizing and managing trial exhibits, scheduling depositions, and assisting attorneys in trial preparation. They may also be responsible for managing the billing and invoicing for the legal services provided. To be successful in this role, a litigation paralegal must possess excellent organizational, communication, and research skills, as well as a strong attention to detail. They must be knowledgeable about legal terminology, procedures, and protocols, and have a solid understanding of the litigation process. Additionally, they should have strong computer skills, including proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to and propound written discovery
Prepare exhibit binders for mediations, arbitrations and trial
Train and supervise legal assistants
Meet regularly with attorneys to review files
Calendar all dates with use of calendaring and case management software
Draft meet and confer letters
Schedule depositions, hearings, defense medical exams
Strict compliance with schedule of assigned appointments
Order, review and summarize medical records
Retain experts and prepare expert designations
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 2 years of civil litigation experience
Very well organized
Good follow-up
Strong communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree or two to four years of related experience and/or training
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
We are looking for a Lien Negotiator whose primary function will be to negotiate post-settlement liens, including health
insurance liens, hospital liens, private medical provider liens, and state and federal medical provider liens. They will also
be responsible for finalizing the case and providing clients with the best recovery possible and exhibit a high level of
efficiency and proficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly keeping clients informed
Providing status updates to providers
Drafting reduction letters
Obtaining final medical balances at settlement
Assemble, organize, and itemize client medical bills
Communicate with Medi-cal and Medicare
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Attention to detail
Maintain professional demeanor on the phone and in all business communications
Ability to meet deadlines and quotas
Ability to multitask
Work both independently and as a member
Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year university
